April 5, 2006. Wednesday. A day of shopping. Going to be in the battle line. September, 3. 2005 I received a mail from my friend who had a CT scan today, and the mail said her brain had no problem. I breathed a little easier. I want her to become fine early. I had nothing to do at office. It's bother to write about it. After work I went to Bic Camera, which is one of a large electrical appriance shop (not a misspelling of 'Big'). Last evening, I decided to buy a new note PC and give old one (Letsnote R1) to my mother. And I wanted to look for a LCD display, because R1's display was broken. The prices were more expensive than the price of my LCD display which I bought 2 years ago. Though progress of technorogy downed the LCD's cost, low-end prices has not been changed in last two year, because the spec of LCD display for PC use grows year by year. So I considerd to give my old LCD display for my mother and buy a new LCD to me. In these days, I watch TV with my LCD display using IO-DATA TVBOXes that is a box including TV tuner and upscan converter. It has AV input (Compornent and S-Video), and PIP (Picture In Picture) function. The box support SXGA and my 17 inch LCD display's resolution is SXGA too. So my requirements are these:
With these requirements, I searched the best one and I found it is very difficult selection. If I focus on display quality or AV function, cost per resolution become very expensive because such display is categorized as a multimedia display, and sometimes the inch size is too large. High resolution model don't have a tuner and it can't be realize PIP at the best resolution (ex. SXGA or UXGA) because of my TVBOXes' spec. Dell's 2407W is high resolution and has a PIP function and multiple AV input. 2407W costs 99,800 yen and it's very cheep for the spec. It can be used as a dot-per-dot displayable hi-vision moniter (The LCD resolution is 1920 x 1200 and hi-vision's graphic resolution for 1080i mode is 1920 x 1080, and it has DVI input with HDCP). Though the selection is very attractive, I will avoided it, because I went to AV corner and saw full 1080i diplayable LCD TV created by SONY. Though it costs 500,000 yen for 40 inch LCD TV, the graphic quiality beyonded compare. I want to buy such a TV for my living room and watch a good movie with my girlfriend someday .... I wish. After I came back home, I searched LCD and the price at kakaku.com. And I selected 2 LCD. One is created by Mitsubishi and anogher is created by IO-DATA. Both are 19 inch, SXGA and include TV tuner . Former is glos LCD and latter is not. Thought former is true 16.77M color but latter is pseude 16.77M color, latter's pixcel response time is 2ms and it's very fast. I select latter, IO-DATA LCD-TV195CBR. It costs 54,800 yen at the most cheep shop. I will go to see it at weekend. If I buy it, I will sell my TVBOXes. I hate cables :) After that, I decided a spec of note PC and I orderd it. I orderd.... that. And the color was .....that. I will report it when I receive it!! Copyright 2006 barista.
